If your mic is not transmitting any sound please test the following. Section 2 & 3 apply only to Windows.
1) Check the port you are plugged into.
- If your PC has a single 3.5mm port you probably have a TRRS headset jack. Use the included Y adapter if you are using a Kimura. For ModMic Uni users, Y adapters are sold separately here.
- If your PC has a dedicated microphone port and a separate dedicated headphone port or multiple colored ports, please make sure the mic (the pink cable on the Kimura) is plugged into the pink or red port or the one labeled with the microphone symbol.
- For game consoles, including PlayStation and Xbox you will need to use the Y adapter plugged into the controller. Make sure it is plugged all the way in.
2) Check your windows volume settings under Sound Settings -> Sound Control Panel -> Recording tab.
Be sure your ModMic is set to Default Device and Default Communication Device by right clicking and selecting the appropriate options. Note: If it is already set this way the device will have a green checkmark and both options will not be visible
If the mic is already your default device click on Properties.
Navigate to the levels tab and make sure the volume is set to 100% and the speaker icon on the right is blue without a red symbol as seen below:
If the icon has a red 🚫 like this: click the speaker icon.
3) Check your microphone privacy settings by going to Sound Control Panel -> Microphone Privacy Settings. Ensure that the following three items are enabled:
- Microphone access is on
- Allow apps to access the microphone is on
- The app you are trying to use your microphone with is set to on in the list below.
4) If none of these changes work, test your microphone on a different device if you have access to one, such as a laptop, PlayStation, or other compatible device.
If your microphone is still not working as expected please contact our support team at CustomerService@AntlionAudio.com for additional assistance. Include your proof of purchase for any warranty related claims and as much detail as possible as to the result of your test.
